Is a Low Fat Diet For Bodybuilding Good or Bad?
I, for one, am pleased that the 80′s and 90′s are behind us, or at least the tasteless ultra low fat diet for bodybuilding that everyone seemed to be on are now gone!
However, there is still a stalwart group of bodybuilders that still swear by this type of diet, endorsing it as the perfect diet for building lean muscle for anyone wishing to get a better defined physique as well as improved health (boy!…would they hate Mike Chang’s nutritional advice as laid out in his Six Pack Shortcuts program!).
I should say that when it comes to discussing a good diet for bodybuilding that I’m not exactly what would be classed as an expert but…I do know that completely eliminating fat altogether from your diet is not a good idea and is certainly not good for your health.
Remember…everything needs to be in moderation! Besides, if you are looking to build muscle then completely cutting fat out of your diet is a terrible idea…let me explain why.
A good diet for building muscle HAS to contain some dietary fats because they are extremely important in maintaining the correct levels of hormones that are essential for building muscle, hormones such as testosterone for example.
There are certain animal foods that are rich in fat such as beef and eggs that should not be avoided because doing so would lower your testosterone levels considerably. Saturated and unsaturated fats should be included in any diet designed for muscle growth, as long as they are consumed in moderation and are balanced.
Good nutrition is vital for your health and there are a number of fat-soluble vitamins that you would be missing out on by using an extremely low fat diet. A very low, or even fat free, diet makes it very difficult for your body to digest vitamins A, D, E, and K, all vital vitamins for increasing muscle mass.
The crux of it is this – if your diet contains extremely low levels of fat, or none whatsoever, your body will not be in the best possible condition to build new muscle tissue, end of!
What Does Mike Chang, Have To Say About a Low Fat Diet For Bodybuilding?
It would be letting too much out the bag to go into details about the actual diet used in Mike’s program, but let’s just say it follows great nutritional guidelines and these include consuming the correct levels of fat! Enough fat, that is, to help maintain the correct levels of testosterone and other important hormones as well as ensuring your body gets all the nutrients it needs for increased muscle growth!
I can’t really say much more than that or I might possibly be getting a visit from Mike’s lawyers! So the easiest way to find out more is to check out his video for yourself where he gives a very good explanation of how his program works. Trust me…if you want to know how to get a six pack without having to starve yourself you’ll thank me by checking it out!
Catch up with you all later,
Vince
